The adage used at the end of this tale is a common saying in the wet area I live in… As a student of Systemic Epistemology, Floyd had laboured alone in his laboratory for many years. Not a single government grant had ever come his way, and that despite his applying for monies to study toxic femininity. But at last he had touched on a topic dear to everyone: The Weather as an Existential Threat. The Department of Homeland Security had awarded him a study grant of fifty thousand. Why the Department of Homeland Security was involved Floyd had no idea. Most of the threatening weather came from overseas. Surely it was within the gambit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But money is money. Floyd set to work with a relish. After three years of solid research, with occasional breaks at the beach to relieve stress, Floyd published a summary of his findings.
